Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This place has been open for as long as I can remember. And still going strong with the amount of tables and patrons. Maybe the first time we visited was maybe 10-15 years ago. The steamboat pot used is still the authentic one with a hole in the middle, which makes this place unique from other steamboat places. Soup taste wise is better than most, with plus points for nostalgia taste for original steamboat tastes (compared to the mah la steamboat). The ingredients wise, which are thrown into the steamboat, meats and veggies are fresh. Presentation is good to warrant some food pics for social media. We smelled grilled fish when we arrived and ordered one to try, didn't disappoint and highly recommended. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and had some fun talking points of the history of this place, our visits over the years."
"The food selection is quite extensive, especially if you're into steamboat. We were looking for light snacks, and, surprisingly, they had some a la carte items on the menu. The oyster pancake in particular was a greasy but yummy affair. The service could be quite slow, so be patient and enjoy your drink first. Prices are fair as well, and do sit outside if the weather is fine."
"None Halal Because It's MonSoon Season Now, Most Of The Time KL Will Start Raining From 3 pm Until Evening (Most Of Lower Part In KL Will Than Face Flash Flood ). Since Today The Rain Have Stop Early And It's The Best Time To Enjoy Chinese Hotpot (Steamboat) . Nice, Clean And Pleasent Environment . Overall - 8/10. For The Hotpot Soup Base, We Have Order The Salted Vege And Tomato Soup (咸菜豆腐汤味). Than We Order 1 Normal Basic Hotpot Set (1 pax). Than We Can Only Order The Additional Add On Dish Of Your Favourite . The Compulsory Normal Basic Hotpot Set Seem To Be Okay And The Price For The Additional Add On Dish Is Consider Average . Since It's The Catch Up Dinner With My Old Buddy For The Chinese Winter Solstice Festival And Also The Christmas Eve ... It's A Good Place For Us To Slowly Cook ... Slowly Eat ... And Slowly Chat ..."
"If u are looking for great steamboat and economy. U should try this. Standard steamboat, satay and fried oysters pencake is strongly recommended."
"We had the shared bowl of tom yum and chicken soup. The 3 person platter was just enough for 3 person. Average size. Not much meat. We add on wanton and fuchuk. Satay taste ok but not sizzling hot when presented to us. The portuguese style fish okok only. The chili sauce for dipping was the best. Overall is ok. We had been here many times. This place is better than many other places."
"Classic fare of steamboat in two tone classic superior and spicy. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. MUST ORDER! Fucuk roll, dip 5 seconds in broth and taste, magical. Another thing is the orchean is crispy and generous oysters. Typical bill rm80-120 3 adults on low side and tasty. Don't expect much from environment to let u know firsthand."
"Nostalgic steamboat shop, price reasonable, bbq stingray also a good choice."
"Visited this restaurant after watching a IG video review recommending their O’Chien/Oyster Omelette. I did however ordered the prawn omelette version— personally love the crispy kind of o’chien and this place delivered, with lots of taugeh too. (Just a heads up for taugeh haters) Other dishes we ordered: - Chicken wings 10/10 (reminds me of Jalan Alor’s Wong Ah Wah) - Prawn Viet style 6/10 (it tastes nice but nth to shout about & reasonably priced) Many other diners come here for their steamboat and they also serve HDL’s soup bases from the packet which I’d like to come back to try, will definitely be cheaper haha"
